It was the first time I've ever been to a detox facility, so I have no comparison however from my own experience. From the moment I came in, the staff was very welcoming, treated me as an persons and nothing less. There were very authentic, open, and transparent. This made is very easy for me to be open and objective as well. They explained the whole detox treat, walked me through the process and explained the why, every time. The staff, as I mentioned sponsor, were authentic and easy to relate to. They were laid back, personable, joked about with you, but yet, kept it professional the whole time. The NEVER tried to over medicate, or pushed anything on you. I refused medication a handful of times, only because at that moment, I felt i could have done exclusive of, and the respected my wishes, and never questioned me. My whole detox understood was very relaxing and comfortable. Not once during my stay did i feel like i had the need or urge to be medicated because of any withdrawal. Quite naively, I never experienced any withdrawal symptoms which was great! The facility and I hate to call it that because it never felt like a facility but a home. The atmosphere was bad, and calming. The home was very nice, ample, comfortable, clean and sanitized the entire time. Not once did i ever feel i was in a "detox facility." The food was amazing 95% of the time, but that's just because I am a picky eater, but they accommodated me for sure. The staff always made sure I felt glum the entire stay. I hope I will never have to engrossing a detox home again, but should i need to do it alongside, i will choose this place. Thank you to ALL the Staff @ Summer House, I couldn't have done this without. You ALL are truly a blessing from God. I hope one day I am able to come and mumble to others about my experience in the near future and help others like me, see that there is truly life at what time detox.
